Convert a Chase statement PDF to Excel or CSV
Turn Chase checking, savings or credit card statements into a spreadsheet without sending them to anyone. The PDF is read inside this browser tab.
| # | Date | Description | Amount | Balance | Check |

Did your statement not convert correctly? Download an anonymised layout file and email it to us. It keeps only where text sits on the page: every letter becomes x and every digit becomes 9, so no names, numbers or amounts are included.
Saved. Attach the -layout.json file to the email. Open it first if you want to check what it contains.
Chase lets you download recent account activity as a spreadsheet, but older statement periods are usually only available as PDF. That is where this converter helps: drop the monthly statement PDF and get one row per transaction, ready for Excel, Google Sheets, QuickBooks or Xero.
Chase checking statements list transactions in a transaction detail table with a date, a description, the amount and the balance after each line, between a beginning and an ending balance. Credit card statements list account activity with a transaction date, a merchant description and an amount, and show the previous and new balance in the summary. The converter reads both kinds of layout and uses those balances to check the result.
How to get the PDF and convert it
- Sign in to Chase online banking on a computer (the website is usually easier than the app for saving files).
- Open the account and look for Statements (often grouped as Statements & documents).
- Pick the month you need and download or save the statement as a PDF.
- Drop the PDF into the converter above. Repeat for each month and combine the files in Excel if you need a whole year.
What the converter checks
- Beginning and ending balance on checking statements are used to check every row.
- On credit card statements, payments and credits come out as negative amounts and purchases as positive, as printed.
- Fees and interest rows are kept as separate transactions.
FAQ
Can I convert a Chase credit card statement?
Yes. The converter reads the account activity table and checks the total against the previous and new balance printed in the account summary.
Chase already offers a CSV download. Why use this?
The built-in download covers recent activity. For past statement periods, or when an accountant sends you the PDFs, converting the statement itself is often the only way to get a spreadsheet.
