Convert a Citi statement PDF to Excel or CSV

Get the transactions from a Citi credit card or Citibank account statement into a spreadsheet, without uploading the PDF anywhere.

Citi card statements usually list each transaction with a sale date, a posting date, a description and the amount, and summarise the previous balance, payments, purchases and new balance on the first page. The converter reads the transaction table and checks that all rows together move the previous balance to the new balance.

Long merchant descriptions that wrap onto a second line are joined back into one description, so each purchase stays one row in your spreadsheet.

How to get the PDF and convert it

  1. Sign in to Citi online banking on a computer (the website is usually easier than the app for saving files).
  2. Open the card or account and find Statements.
  3. Select the statement and save it as a PDF.
  4. Drop it into the converter above.

What the converter checks

  • Wrapped merchant names are joined into one row.
  • Totals are checked against the previous and new balance.
  • Foreign currency details on a second line stay in the description.

FAQ

Does it work with Citibank checking statements?

Yes, as long as the PDF has selectable text. Statements with a running balance are checked row by row.

What if a row is shown in red?

It means the amounts and the printed balance do not agree at that point. Compare that line with the PDF before importing.
