Convert a credit card statement PDF to Excel or CSV

Get every purchase, payment and fee from a credit card statement into a spreadsheet, checked against the statement balance.

Credit card statements differ from bank statements in a few ways: there is usually no running balance next to each line, there are often two dates per transaction, and payments may be printed as negative numbers. The converter handles all three. It keeps the transaction date, keeps signs as printed, and checks that all rows together move the previous balance to the new balance.

This is useful for expense reports, splitting shared costs, or categorising a year of spending before a tax return.

How to get the PDF and convert it

  1. Sign in to your card account online and open Statements.
  2. Download the monthly statement as a PDF.
  3. Drop it into the converter above.
  4. Download as Excel or CSV and sort or filter by merchant.

What the converter checks

  • Transaction date is used when a posting date is also shown.
  • Payments and refunds keep their minus sign.
  • The total is checked against previous and new balance.

FAQ

Why is there no balance column in my result?

Most card statements do not print a balance after each transaction. The converter checks the total instead.

Are foreign currency transactions supported?

The amount charged to your card is read. Exchange rate details on a second line stay in the description.
